Natural casings are a natural choice for best quality sausages. Owing to the animal intestines since over 15,000 years mankind can make and eat sausage as natural casings were the only available package for meat. Despite of artificial casings that were introduced into the market natural sausage casings dominate the world production of high quality sausages.

T&K offers a whole range of natural casings both calibrated and non-calibrated (originals) originating from our own selection facilities in Europe.

Hog casings

Hog casings are the most popular natural casings used in production of a wide range of raw, pre-cooked, grilled and cooked sausages. To name only the best selling Polish sausages: śląska, surowa polska, szlachetna, grillowa biała, rzeszowska, podwawelska, lisiecka or toruńska.

Moreover these casings are used in such worldwide delicacies like Grilli sausage originating from  Finland, Bratwurst from Germany, Boudin blanc and Saucisse Montbeliard from France, Boerewors from North Africa, BBQ sausage or Kishka. In order to complete this list one should add thousand of other sausage types.

Hog casings are available in various configurations that can be chosen within the fallowing criteria:

  • caliber: 24/26, 26/28, 28/30, 30/32, 32/34, 34/36 and 36/38;
  • length of hank: 20, 80 or 90 meters;
  • number of ends in hank: 10/12/14;
  • quality: 1A, AB and B.

Sheep and goat casings

Sheep casings have similar size and characteristics as goat casings. They are used not only in Frankfurt sausages production, Polish Kabanos and the German Bockwurst, but also in superior-quality Viennas, thin salami, Landjaeger sausage, Merguez, Beer Stix and Knakkers.

These casings are a great combination of delicacy and small diameter. Sausages made within sheep casings are fantastic to fast cooking, smoking and grilling. Casings can be chosen along once needs according to the following criteria:

  • caliber: 18/20, 20/22, 22/24, 24/26 and 26/28;
  • length of hank: 21,5 or 91,5 meters;
  • number of ends in hank: 10/12/14;
  • quality: 1A, AB and B.

All above mentioned natural casings are also available in following variations:

  • dry salted casings;
  • easy-fill casings;
  • casings in hanks/bundles;
  • tubed casings.

On request we also realize orders that include beef and lamb casings in chosen caliber and package.
